    Speaker Problems..

I have 2 800W 12" subs hooked up to a 200W Amp, and they are under my moniter.

They are in speaker boxes about 2.5' high. 2 Speaker boxes that support my moniter.

When I have both subs on it sounds ok, but no bass at all, When I have only 1 on I get great bass, I just cant get them to both produce bass together side by side?

    Please help

Are you saying that they did work at one point?

Were they hooked up the same way on this same system?

I hope your monitor has shock absorbers

Well I had them back against one wall, on each side.. so there was like an 8 foot difference, Im wondering if its because they are closer together?

Its all the exact same Except I took out all 4 tweeters (2 In each box) and just left the subs (I only disconnected the tweeters).

Now I have them both side by side and only when I have 1 (doesnt matter) working if gives out LOTS of nice bass (Poor monitor) but both together DO shake alot and you can feel LOTS of vibration on the walls, table, etc. But no Bass?

800 watts each ??!! Are these car speakers? If so, they are 4 Ohms, whereas house speakers (or computer speakers for that matter) are 8 Ohms.

So what's the amp you're running? A 4 Ohm car amp through some kind of 12volt/240volt inverter or an 8 Ohm house amp or some kind of amp I've never seen specifically for a computer?

How have you got it wired up? Is there a channel on the amp for each speaker or are you plugging them into the same output? What about the mid-range and treble - where's that coming from? Is it a 4- or 5.1-channel amp or are the speakers connected direct to the sound card output on the PC?

In fact, does this have absolutely nothing to do with the computer and the speakers just happen to be in the same room??!!!

Sorry for all the questions but all that I can picture is that you've gone down to Les Smiths and bought a pair of 800w bass boxes and a Jetsound amp and somehow shoved it into the back of your PC - it's a very weird image I've conjured up!

Incidentally, I know quite a bit about speakers/amps in cars and home/PC audio is all the same principles but I just need to get my head round what you've got in order to try and think why you've got a problem.

No, the distance will make no difference.

Is there a crossover involved? Built into the amp maybe? If you're getting more vibration when you've got both subs running but you can't "hear" the bass, then it sounds like its all running at a very low frequency, e.g. a crossover has kicked in and is filtering out the higher frequency stuff that is more audible to the human ear. As the frequency drops into the sub-50Hz region, you start to feel it more than you can hear it.

Ok I drew up a little diagram of what it Looks like...

    Not very good.. Meh...

And yes, I got it going from Amp-to-Amp LoL...

Im not sure what Ohms they are and what crossovers are?

    Heres more pics...
