    Thumbs down Problem PC

I have recently completed building a pc and now seem to have nothing but problems. Everything had been working I was able to install O/S ok and had even downloaded most of the updates.
When the pc is booted it gets to the welcome page of Win XP Pro and then resets itself occasionally it gives a blues screen of death stating that
    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL please can someone help.
The system will boot in safe mode.

The PC specs are as follows
    Amd 2500xp Processor
    Gigabyte GA7n400 Pro2 Motherboard
    2x 512mb Ram
Gigabyte 256mb Geforce FX5700 Graphics Card
    Creative Labs V92 modem
    1x 160gb Hdd
    1x 60Gb Hdd
    1x Floppy Drive
1x Cd rw + Dvd Combo
    1x Dvd rw.

    Hey, welcome to D-A-L

OK this could be a number ot things but first I would make sure all drivers are up to date for modem and graphics card etc, you could also check for a bios update for your motherboard - http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Motherboa.../BIOS_List.htm post back and let us know how you get on. Also try running with one stick of that 512 RAM in andthe other out.

Have now got pc running all drivers up to date and now only running with one stick of ram. However everytime the computer boots up it tells me that it has recovered from a serious error.

Have the same motherboard g7n400pro rev2.
Note rev 2 latest bios FK

Did you update to service pack2 XP??
May give those kind of errors. I would be cautious with service pack 2.
Any of your cd/dvd drives on usb?
Try removing the telephone modem, even though i know its creative labs.
Any beep codes during boot up. Error beep codes on your manual and also on gigabyte website.
    good luck...

    Hi ,
your computer is telling you what's wrong.
    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    ..means..
driver InteRupt reQuest not less or equal...........means...
you have one or more hardware devices attempting to "share" the same internal program communication channels...AND they're NOT playing nice together. .
    Goto.. START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM>DEVICE MANAGER.
you should be able to find the "offending" device(s) there.
    Hope this helps,
