Unable to get printer to print black type was working ok, colour working fine. I have tried 4 different catridges from two different companies and have reloaded the drivers from CD. Also tried system restore back to when it was working ok. Also tried Deep Clean etc. on maintenance.

Is this a printer / copier / scanner like my MP750? If it is, do you only have the problem when printing from Windows or do you also have trouble with black printing if you switch off the PC and try to copy something using the printer as a standalone copier?

I have problems both with the PC on and with the PC off.

In that case, it's not a driver issue. I'll see if I can find any other suggestions and, in the meantime, I'll move this to a more appropriate message board for you in the hope that someone with more ideas will pick this up
