Why is my computer not booting

my computer does not want to boot. when i turned it on nothing happens. i can hear the cpu fan and power supply fan running but there is nothing in my monitor but blank. I don't even hear beep/s from my computer when i press the power button. My system is a 1.2ghz Athlon with 256 ddr ram with s3trio 64v+

Did this just happen? Were things OK before?

Do you have a green light on the case? Do you see lights flash on either the floppy drive & or the DVD/CD drive?

Is the monitor power light on? Green? Amber?

Do you have another monitor to try?

Unplug the computer from the wall & hold the start button for a minute.

Are you familiar with opening the case? Clearing the CMOS?

I would try a different monitor on this computer.
Or this monitor on a different computer.
Just to clear the monitor as the problem.

Are there any reset buttons or settings buttons on the monitor itself?

Did that already. I even isolated the motherboard and powersupply. I removed the power supply and motherboard from the casing then tested them. I also removed the cmos battery to clear any last memory. I also tested if it was my memory. i removed the memory and tried to boot. but i did not hear any sound. would it be my motherboard?

It is not that uncommon that an internal bit of hardware gets slightly unsettled when you move the PC from one place to another, particularly when this involves taking it in a car to a different building. I would try removing the graphics card and firmly reseating it back in the PCI / ISA slot (with the power off obviously!).
