Monitor reads "No signal"
When I turn on my computer, it sounds like its not "turning over" and the monitor reads "No Signal". I have checked the cables and all are fine, I dont know what the problem is, if it is a fault on the processer or the monitor. Please help !!!!!

Re: Monitor reads "No signal"
No Signal will probably mean the monitor is fine. It is just not getting a signal.
Do you hear any beeps? Is this a new problem? Were things OK before?
Are you familiar with opening the case? Do you have the manual?
Inside you can:
Check if the fans run; clear the CMOS;
Re-seat the RAM; Vid Card; CPU; those would be initial tests.
Check for red lights on the front of the case & or the board itself.
If no beeps try starting with the RAM removed: any beeps now?

Re: How do I get my computer to turn on?
The fact that the monitor displays the "no signal" message confirms that your monitor is getting power and switching on but it's not getting a signal from the graphics card, either due to a fault with the RGB cable between the PC and monitor or a fault in the graphics card itself. If you're convinced that the cable is fitted securely, then the next most common cause of this is a loose or defective graphics card. Taking appropriate precautions against static electricity, open the system case, remove the graphics card and then re-seat it carefully but firmly in the slot (you'll need to disconnect the monitor cable first). Make sure that the copper contact edge is making a secure (i.e. relatively even) connection across the whole length of the card.
Let us know if that helps

Re: How do I get my computer to turn on?
Hello,
I'd say to follow DJNafey's directions. However, I don't know how much of a newbie you are, but, I've seen this before, so I thought I'd mention it. Please forgive me if I'm treating you like too much of a beginner. Make sure your actual computer (CPU) is turned on and you are not just turning on the monitor. Press the button on the computer tower itself and then power on the monitor.

Re: Monitor reads "No signal"
This sounds similar to my old problem,
Has your monitor been saying 'no signal' occasionally before?
My problem ended up being a faulty motherboard, but i wouldn't suggest that is your problem untill all other possibilities have been eliminated.

I am having the same problem and I do see a red light on the front of my case, what does this mean?
I have tried the most common step's and still no success,I am begining to think it's my mobo.

Re: Monitor reads "No signal"
I didn't have time yesterday,so I will explain a little more today.
All of the hardware I am using was connected to another mobo,The reason I am using a differen't one is because my pc would shut down after about 5 second's from startup. I disconnected all of my hardware except the psu and it would still shut down. I tested all of the hardware on my son's pc and it all worked fine,so I narrowed it down to the mobo.
I tried another mobo and now I am having the no signal problem with the monitor. I should also add that the board I am using now was an open box item from newegg,That's what I get for trying to save a couple of dollar's I guess....lol
I cleared the cmos, reset the RAM,video card,CPU all the fan's are working,I have a manual and everything is firmly in place,I guess this board is bad also?

We had a power surge that ruined stuff in my compurter. So I had to replace stuff in it. I have replaced everything in it from power supply, cpu, hard drive. Everything powered up but my monitor reads no siginal. I didn't have this issue befor. I checked all the cable and my monitor everything seems to be ok no beep or anything fan running and all. I can remove my graph card because it is on board type. So I was wondering what do I do now to make it work thanks
