Too many drives; not enough knowledge

When I got this new computer, it has so many new drives on it that I am afraid to click on them in case I don't have the media to insert them should they be asked for. Two that I need clarified are reported as: MMC/SD and MS/MS PRO. Could you explain what they are for and how to use them properly? Thanks.

    Hey Daydori,

Don't panic! These are extra memory slots/ports if you like. CompactFlash, Microdrive, Memory Stick, SmartMedia, MultiMediaCard, Secure Digital, xD picture card, are flash memory sticks, kind of like the USB pendrives you can get, except these are mostly used in digital camera's, mp3 players, mobile phones and PDAs.

If you have any of the above give it a try. Take you memory stick and insert it in to the slots provided, take care to do this right otherwise you could damage your mem stick or your flash card reader!

Once you pop the mem card in you should be allerted and prompted to open and view the contents, if not don't worry, go to "My Computer" and locate the drive - double click and hey presto!!!! You should see your files, be it photo's, mp3s etc.......

Check out what they look like here:

    Hope this helps, good luck!
