If they are not detected in the BIOS I would first off check all connections.

Unplug & replug all connections. The drive end as well as the board end.

Are you using a controller card? If so remove & reslot that as well.

You also may want to try a new ribbon/ cable.

Did this just start to happen? Were things OK before?

When does the computer freeze? "... at the ... " ?
