    Please Help Me :-(

    Ya know I havent been this close to cring in years, please can you tell me what the max processor i can run in a COMPAQ PRESARIO S4020WM, it has a AMD xp 2400+ in it now I don't know what the motherboard is and have NO IDEAL how to find out. I can't play any games with decent grafics(sp?) although i installed a new Xtasy Radeon 9550 card. Can you and I beg you please help me.thank you for taking the time to read this. and for the help!!!!

    You'd really need the board make/model to find out what it will support. The 2400+ is a 2GB processor, I kind of doubt you could upgrade much without changing the board, but again, this depends on the board.

    Open the system and look for the motherboard make/model silkscreened onto it.

    Your system seems fine to handle most games.

    Did you install all the Graphics drivers & software? Uninstall the old?

    Have you checked dxdiag?

    go to Start | Run | dxdiag | Display

    Are the 3d acceleraters working?

    this tells you all sorts of useful info, including your board etc

    once you have found which board, go to the manufacturer's site and get the spec from there....its as simple as that

    It's also worth checking that you've got enough system RAM to support the game the operating system and the game that you're running. Belarc or Everest should assist with finding that out as well
