Is PC133 laptop memory backward compatable in a laptop designed for PC100?
What Laptop memory are you moving?
Yes and no. If the laptop you are moving the memory from is not the same as the one receiving then you run the risk of it not working. PC100 had alot of options that PC133 didnt have. Examples are buffering vs non-buffered, or Clock 1x versus 2x (before DDR) and the killer was the voltage, some were 3.3v and some were 2.5v.
This is denoted by CL3 or 2.5 at the end of the memory spec stated on the side of the RAM chipOriginally Posted by AphJN
