Re: how do i change windows directory?
still no luck, tried with and without the floppy, computer wont boot past the dell logo screen, when i copied it with both HD's on the same ribbon, it copied, does this meen it will work?
-
Have you tried the "copied" disk (old E: disk) in the Primary/Master position yet to see if it boots and runs?
Do not format the old C: drive until you're sure the new copied disk will work as your new boot and O/S disk.

no, not yet because i formatted it thinking it wouldnt work, does the primary drive (the one i want to boot from) need to be at the end of the ribbon cable or doesnt it matter?
-
all is sorted
booted up with E as master and it worked. Windows has changed the letters around, like you said it would and i have formatted E (which used to be C) thanks alot for your help, i would never have been able to do it on my own :-D
