*Update* PC powers off during boot, (this is new, I promise)

***I fixed it. The Intel heatsink that comes with the CPU does not work and play well with the chip. I didn't realize that the chip actually came with the fan and bought a thermaltake at the same time. On a whim, I reseated the cpu and switched fans....now it works. *sigh* If I could only switch to AMD and Linux the world would be a great place****

Have a brand new MSI MB 925XE Neo, brand new retail box Intel P4 3.4G LGA775 HT, 1G Kingston RAM, a 450W PSU and only things hooked up are a brand new MSI ATI Radeon 128 vid card, a brand new Maxtor SATA 120G HDD, and a Samsung 52x CD/RW (no floppy in it, have it set to boot from the CD 1st, HDD 2nd). Can get into BIOS/CMOS setup, have turned off all the power saver stuff, set reboot to plow through any errors, reduced the clock speed, tried unplugging the HDD (its not formatted or anything yet), pleaded with it, threatened it, prayed over it, cried, stomped around it, drank, ate Oreos (Oreos usually help about anything) -- you know all the usual stuff -- all the while trying every setting in and out of the book trying to get the stupid thing to just boot. I've been building computers since Tandy was in the computer business and I have never had this type of problem that I haven't been able to fix before.

I need a fresh brain on this thing, because the only thing left is a bigger hammer. Thanks a bunch!!
