    Booting Problems

    Hello everyone,

I have been getting this problem for a little while now. When I turn off or restart my computer. It freezes and the floopy disk light stays on. This happens when the computer tries to attempt to boot from hard drive, floppy disk and the cdrom. Do you think it could be something to do with the floopy? I think it's very strange.

The only other thing I could assume that it could be is either the hard drive. I always get the message "Verifying DMI Pool Data.......Update Sucess" it is after the floopy disk has usually been accessed when it crashes.

I am running a Sata Drive. I have just formatted them both.

Also a little note this error does not occur each restart/boot. It happens every so often. Nothing is in the drives at the time when it happens.

If you have any more questions please feel free to ask.

    Thanks for your time.

    Matthew

Have you conducted any virus or Spyware scans? What is the Motherboard and HDD?

Try disconnecting the power and data cables from the floppy, then enter the bios on bootup and remove the floppy there. Save your bios changes and reboot. If the systems performs correctly without the floppy drive, then the drive or it's (motherboard) controller are failing.
