    Exclamation REALTEK audio AC97 problem

Hi recently (3 days ago) I bought a new computer, the sound card (realtek AC97) worked well until yesterday suddenly it stopped working. All my settings are configured correctly as far as I know, I've also downloaded the newest drivers etc.. BIOS setup is okay for the driver. My speakers aren't broken because when I plug them in my iPod they work. Also my microphone won't work. Could it be broke? As far as I know I've done nothing wrong .I've posted my settings on this site : quickly made site
    Any suggestions ?

oh yeah and when I plug earphones into the pc, they won't play eiter

Have you done the speaker test that is listed on the AC'97 Soundmax applet?

When you open the AC97 sound properties applet, you will have about 8 tabs. You will see the tab for Speaker Test next to or near the Speaker configuration tab.

If you have Soundmax, you can open the Soundmax applet and you will have a test button in the lower right.

I would, if you are still under warranty, have the place you bought the system/Motherboard from replace it. Something has happened between the Chipset and the connectors to cause the loss of sound. If the test shows that it is playing sound and up until 3 days ago you were, either a solder joint, wire or connection has become defective.

The test bypasses the OS so I know its not a driver issue or a game problem.

One quick last check. Just set your sound card to output digital and analog sound -

The reason being you'll probably need either new digital speakers or a digital speaker cable, if you were to keep the setting as it is.

Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with this issue.
