over a period of weeks,the screen would go black for an instant then return to normal getting more regular until one day the system rebooted itself.after several reboots,it seemed to take an age before windows(xp)would load,as soon as it loaded, back it would go rebooting.finally the computer refuses to load,lights flashing,but nothing "kicking in"
i am a complete novice,but on removing video card found that cooling fan was seized,so presume the video card is dead! ihave been told by a"tech"that it is probably the motherboard,any ideas please?

hey, if the video card was getting too hot this would be very likely to cause the reebooting, you need to replace the fan on the graphics card and get that working first.
