I have a 4 year old Compaq Presario 5000 series. I installed a PCI Radeon 7000 graphics card in it. I didn't install a driver prior to installing it. Now when I turn my PC on, it lights up but nothing happens. It doesn't load up and I can't even get an image on my monitor from the original AGP graphics card. Can you help me please?
hi, welcome to D-A-L, I had a similar problem with my computer after i installed a new HD, it was working fine and one day it just stopped. Have you checked that your processor is in correctly? The only other thing I can think of is that your processor has broke. Can you borrow someone elses to test is? (obviously make sure it is compatable with your motherboard first)
Do you get any beeps from the PC?Originally Posted by dkavanagh

Is this the only change you made? If so, did you try to put the PCI card into the AGP slot? (Wont fit BTW) Next question, in bios do you remember where the computer was looking for the video card...AGP or PCI...If you cant remember, reset the bios with the clear CMOS jumper.
