    No USB Ports Working

I'm having major problems with my USB ports. I have an ASUS P4S800 mobo. It has 4 USB ports on the back. My case has another 2 on the front. None of them work. I have SP1 and SP2 installed, all other microsoft updates, and all the drivers for my mobo installed. I tried someone's suggestion of installing all the mobo software, uninstalling the actual USB drives in device manager/hardware, and then rebooting. It recognized the drives, installed the drivers, but they still didn't work.

The crazy thing is that when I plug my USB headset in, it gets power. (I can only tell from the power LED, there's no audio) Absolutely nothing I plug in gets recognized. The firewire connection on my audigy 2 works, but that is all. Please someone help me out. The same ports worked a few months ago.

This is an SiS chipset MB...They are notorius for losing peripheral connections. I have at work 6 P4S800 MBs and all have lost either the USB ports (on the chipset) or the onboard NIC. If you have someone with a spare USB controller card, I would disable the onboad USB ports, put the card in, try it that way, then pull the card and re-enable the onboard ports. If the onboard ports do not comeback its definitely the onboard USB controller. USB only has 2 datalines that can be killed, the Power is independent of the USB controller.

Wow. I've posted my problem on other websites but you're the only one with a good answer. I appreciate the help. I'll try that out, and if that doesn't work, it looks like I'm buying a new mobo.
