My pc cd drive drawer will not open at all can anyone help

Have you tried a straightned out paper clip in the little hole on the front?? its a release for opening the tray (be careful tho')

Thanks i just inserted a paperclip and it opened but now it does,nt want to close there does,nt seem to be any power to it

The cd drawer should open and close without power.. how old is the cd drive? they are not very expensive and easy to replace
