    Laptop graphics card

Hello i just bought a dell inspiron 9300 laptop and i already need to upgrade it, a surprise i know, haha. Anyways it has a 128mb Ati mobility x300 graphics card which is the bottom of ATI's line of notebook graphics card. I want to upgrade the video card, im pretty sure it might be more involving then upgrading the RAM. My question is is there a manual online or some online resource you could direct me to with instruction on how to change out the video card in a notebook. I also need to know a place when i can purchase graphic cards for notebooks because im having trouble finding a retailer. thanks in advance for your help.

Dell has a pretty good service

You need your Service Tag # for details so I can't really search from here.

From some searching it seems like the possibility depends on your model.
Many seem to be embeded in the motherboard.

    Here is a device:

    And here are some threads:

    Hope this helps.

I dont think you can replace the card in a laptop.....i have a hp/compaq r3000 laptop with ati mobility radeon 9000/9100 igp in with 64mb on board, im currently trying to find some sort of way of assigning ram memory to dedicate itself to my card, coz 64mb is poor on graphics, runs some things pretty fine though. help any 1. thanks craig England

Bear in mind that you'll most probably invalidate Dell's warranty if you open up the Inspiron and change the graphics chip yourself.
