new graphics card not working properly :S

    hello,
i recently built myself a new computer with a
    gigabyte 2004 RZ motherboard
    AMD sempron 2600+ (1.84 GHz )
    256DDR ram
and a western digital 60 gig HD
then i recently installed a GeForce MX4000 128mb with TV DVI

the drivers for the graphics card are all sweet and it works fine doing stuff other than games, when i start playing games after about 2 minutes the screen goes blank and the computer seem inactive, the drivers are all installed properly i think and i dont think its a heating issue cause there are 4 fans installed, im really baffled about this can anyone help it would be greatly appreciated

    cheers

what is your version of DirectX?

go to Start | Run | (type): dxdiag

also look there under display to see if everything looks ok.

what is the driver version there?

7184 seems to be the latest driver:

Also: look in your event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details. Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with a crash.

I don't know. At this point all I can do is speculate along with you.

Does this happen with all games? Just some particular games? Which games?

    Always 2 minutes?

When the games freeze do you have to power off the PC?

Perhaps add more RAM? 512 would be nice.

Are you running XP? Service Pack 2?

Most everything I see points to hardware.

Here is a good program to get some details including heat sensors:

Clicking the 2005 banner will get the right product for your machine.

    Hope this helps.
