hi,
i have just recently purchased a brand new motherboard.
it is a MSI motherboard with intergrated 5.1 sound and i have also purchased an geforce fx5200 graphics card.

i have connected all the new hardware and all the cable ect.

i turn on my computer and the fans spin but nothing happenes....the screen is black and the computer does not even make a bleep sound.

please can someone help me?

What is the exact model of board?

Are you sure the CPU & RAM are compatible with the board?

Try to start with just the RAM & CPU & Graphics card.

If nothing try just the CPU & RAM. Any beeps yet?

If not remove the RAM. Beep?

Does the CPU get warm?

Also check the connection from the switch is the right way around, as it has a +ve side and a -ve side.

And very gentley make sure everything is pushed in and coonected to the m.board correctly.

well i have tried everything...but i went back to the computer retailer and they claim they have given me the rong type of memory lol.

so i hope this fixes the problem.

the motherboard is now working but when i boot up my computer it says hold **** and tab to boot up network or something like that....it wont pick up my 120gb maxtor hard disc but it picks up a very old maxtor 4gb har disc.


any sugestions

What is the exact model of the MSI board?

Are you sure it is capable & or set right to handle a 120gb drive?

Are you sure the drive jumpers are correct?

Did you run MaxBlast to install the drive?
