The download from giga byte isnt working anyway

    http://www.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard...Rev%201.x).htm

Anyway from the picture I see the battery down by the IDE sockets & what appear to be the jumpers just below the battery towards the edge of the board.

(jumper block would be just a small 3 pin gadget with a "sleve" over two of the pins)

To clear the CMOS: (after unplugging from the wall)

    1. remove the battery

    2. change the placement of the "sleve" from say 1&2 to 2&3

    3. wait a few minutes

    4. change the "sleve" back to the way it was

    5. replace the battery

    6. plug back in & power on

I followed your instructions however that didn't work either. The computer still doesn't boot even though everything else runs.

Well I finally got the manual to download:

    Manual

If you are sure the monitor is ok; I can only suspect the video card. Anyway a few excerpts from the manual:

When you installing AGP card, please make sure the following notice
is fully understood and practiced. If your AGP card has "AGP 4X/8X
(1.5V) notch"(show below), please make sure your AGP card is AGP
    4X/8X.
    Caution: AGP 2X card is not supported by Intel® 845(GE/PE) / 845(E/G) /
    850(E) / E7205 / 865(G/PE/P) / 875P. You might experience system
unable to boot up normally. Please insert an AGP Pro 4X/8X card.

Question 5: How do I clear CMOS?

    1. Turn off power.
    2. Disconnect the power cord from MB.
    3. Take out the battery gently and put it aside for about 10 minutes (Or you can use a
metal object to connect the positive and negative pins in the battery holder to make
    them short for one minute).
    4. Re-insert the battery to the battery holder.
    5. Connect power cord to MB again and turn on power.
    6. Press Del to enter BIOS and load Fail-Safe Defaults.
    7. Save changes and reboot the system.

I looked in the manual for problem solving help and the video card seemed like the problem. However, clearing the CMOS again most likely wouldn't work if it didnt work the first time. Also the video card is 8x AGP so I don't think that was the problem. So most likely it is the video card itself and I'll just purchase another one from Newegg.

I just installed the new video card and the computer still won't boot. I hooked up the monitor to my laptop and it worked just fine, displaying my desktop like it should. Right now I'm not sure what direction I should go, could it be the motherboard even though the cpu fan, the memory light, and the beeping is heard when I remove the memory sticks? Also is it true that the computer should boot to the Bios even when not hooked up to the harddrives? Finally, could the motherboard be the problem if all else is fine, although I have a feeling it could be the harddrives?

The computer should boot to the Bios even when not hooked up to the harddrives.

I see in the manual to enter BIOS setup press Delete immeadiatly after power on.

    Have you tried that?

I tried that option and it didn't work. Now with the new video card, the keyboard doesn't turn on right now, I'm at a point now to throw down $ for a new Asus motherboard and most likely find out it was the harddrives or the ram that were the problem but I just want to use my desktop again. One last thing I could do is completely deconstruct the computer and check for shorts, which I don't know how to do, and rebuild it.
