Ok i was building a new pc..

It has

Asus k8v-x mobo
Athlolon 64 3000+
kingmax 512 ram
radeon 9800 pro
maxtor 120 gb 7200 rpm hd


and when i turn it one i get nothing and the hd light stays on it dosent do anything. If you got any idea whats goin on plz help me.

cpu get warm?

no beeps fans the only thing that turn on and cpu tep is 73 degrees

try starting without the video card to see if it beeps.

the parts are like 5 month old my dad got it and never put it to geather so i said i was goin to take it so i put it togeather and the fans turn on and the hd light stays on he saids some thing not pluged in right or all the way and i checked and double checked every thing i even bought new ribbion cables

first off there are 2 power connections: the main & a 4 pin 12V.

do you have the 12V plugged in?

there is also a LED on the board; is it on (green)?

yes both are pluged in the main and the 4 pin (12 volt connector) are pluged in.. The power led light is on.

are you sure the cpu is seated properly?

if it were working you would notice some heating.
