Computer won't boot past Bios Screen
Hi, I have two computers 1 which has a Broadband Connection & I use for general purpose stuff, The other is upstairs without a connection, So that's how I'm currently able to post & is my main one which I use for work.
Anyway, I last used it about 24 hours ago & went to turn it on again about an hour ago, It's in the spare room, So absolutly no one has used it or even been in the room, Since I turned it off.
So I went to turn it on & a rattling noise seemed to be coming from the Hard Drive, It go to the blue Windows XP Screen then it went black, I went downstairs & came back 5 minutes later & it was still black & humming, So I gave it a slight tap on the side but nothing, So I pressed the reset button.
Now it went to the Bios screen.
F2 Bios F11 Boot
then after a few second it goes to the next screen & this comes up
Auto Detecting Pri Master IDE Hard Disk
Auto Detecting Pri Slave Not Detected
Auto Detecting Sec Master Atapi CDRom
Auto Detecting Sec Slave Not Detected
It goes that fast I had to restart it a couple of times to get this info
Then it goes to another screen & this comes up
Searching for Boot Record from Floppy..Not Found
Searching for Boot Record from IDE-0..OK
A diskread error occurred
Press ctrl+alt+del to restart
I'm not a techie, So ain't sure about any of this, I have restarted it around 10 times but keep getting the same stuff & I have some important documents on it that I really need to get access to.
Just incase, I took a few Jpg's of the inside of the case, Whether they will be useful or not I don't really think so but I took them to give everyone as much info as possible.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get access to the desktop or to repair the problem,
Also I'm using Windows XP Pro, Thanks for any help on this matter James..
If you need any other info post it up & I'll try to get it if I can

What type of hard drive is it?
You will find diagnostics to most major drives here:
http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287
Find your manufacturer & create & run their bootable floppy diagnostic.
This would be my first step.

have you recently added a new hard drive? when you boot up, make sure there is no floppy disk in the FD drive have you changed any settings?
