I've gone and done it ordered a new hard drive for this PC........at the moment I have XP and want to keep my settings and programmes.

But the hard drive in this PC is going in one running ME (hard drive playing silly buggers) so I'll want to put in that one....

But the hard drive will have XP on.........(no problem its a legal copy.. plus I ordered another copy of XP oem to put on other PC)..but what problems will I come across on this PC with a new hard drive??

Use the FaST Wizard...File and Settings transfer wizard. If you have a network arlready setup just dump to that networked drive. If not I hope you have a CD ReWritable. This will retain your settings...your programs will still need to be reinstalled. I have tried to Ghost a setup like this and it failed misserably. I have done many an HD change, but XP always kicks my tuckus.
