    Intel Pentium 4

I might be buying a new CPU but I can't seem to choose, and I was just wondering if there is a difference between this, Intel Pentium 4 3.0E Ghz, 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache,
and a, Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz Socket 775 800FSB 1MB Cache CPU, is one better than the other, and on the first CPU it says "3.0E" what does the E mean? thanks.

"E" is just the revision of the processor. Since Intel has produced so many "3.0" Ghz pentiums, they had to seperate out which are 533FSB, 800FSB, 512KB L2 cache and 1MB L2 cache. The new Numbering scheme that Intel has come out with is on their newest core P4s. So, the 935 Pentium 4 is better than the 925 and so on. The Old numbered processors are slower or not as capable as the new "Non" frequencied P4s.

So with a CPU thats a 3GhzE does that just mean its a newer version, and probably not much difference in performance when compared to a 3Ghz CPU with no E...
    thanks,
