power up issue
ok, here is the whole thread, http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread...8&page=1&pp=10
but to sum it up, i had problems posting, then the bios wouldnt fully load up, and now my computer wont even turn on...the fans wont even spin..

Can you please stick to the same thread as it causes confusion for the people trying to help you.

I advised syphonX57 to start a new thread in this section & to reference his other XP thread.
I thought someone reading Hardware might not have been reading XP; & it is a hardware issue.
Was hoping it would not confuse but help.

Just to try to recap the previous thread:
This machine went from working fine; to a no POST; from one shutdown to the next boot.
Fans worked but no POST nor beeps.
Stripping the system & clearing the CMOS finally got the POST going only to "freeze" during the RAM count.
Access to the BIOS Setup was achieved but changes were not possible.
At the present time "power up" results in brief fan spin then nothing.
Board is Abit KD7

Does he have a spare PSU?

the fans wont even spin now, the yellow light on the motherboard is on, but it wont power up or anything and a weird noise comes out of the computer, the source unknown to me at this time though.
-
wish you could get a known working PSU to test the board.
if you are going to rebuild you might try getting the power supply first & then test this board with it.
-
how much are power supplys?, and do you think you guys could walk me through installing a power supply?
also, will any power supply work??
