so that first one will work with my system?
it should work with your board as well as the new one you were thinking of: yes.
i ordered it, not sure how long its going to take, but it was almost 9 bucks for S&H :|
it came today, i tried to hook it up myself, the computer turns on but it wont even give a post beep sequence to me again. im thinking i hooked something up wrong, i hooked both cables to the mobo correctly, but im not sure how to hook up the cables to the hdd, cd drive, floppy, the cable to the fans...
it had a manual? the plugs are pretty straight foward as to what a floppy drive will take is different (smaller) than the basic plug for HDD & CD/DVD.
fans are probably similar to the small 12V plug
unfortunatly I would guess that if everything is the same with the mobo that maybe that is the problem
try clearing the cmos again. at least we know you have a good PSU.
actually go thru all the things tried before; try w/out vid card; try w/out ram; try with just 1 stick ram in different slots etc.
hope this helps

my old psu was fried, the fan on the psu wouldnt even spin.
ok, its going to post...it wont even consistently stay on now....so it is time to order a new motherboard?
does it clear POST?
freeze in the same spot?
what exactly happens?
can you feel any heat at all from the processor while it's running?
doesnt clear post, just starts up and stays on...the processer fan is whirring
this is a quote from another thread from AphJN
Sorry to chime in so late in the game but I would really want to look at the heat coming out of the processor by now. If its scalding hot its burning up. If there is no heat then its already gone. If its warm but not as warm as it should be then you could have a power problem with the CPU.
