I have a goosed laptop, is there any way I can extract the data from the hard drive using my tower pc

tried that, cannot get computer to boot up. I can get as far as the screen that tells me windowns did not start last time what do you want to do etc etc. I choose load last know working settings but the computer cuts out and restarts and just keep going through that loop.

Are you trying to boot the laptop hard drive in your tower?

I had envisioned using your working tower with the laptop drive installed as a slave just to extract its' data.

Tried the way you suggested and it worked a treat.

Using this configuration you can also run diagnostics & or chkdsk on that drive.

Dont know if the drive was bad or some other aspect of your laptop.

No the drive is ok, its the laptop thats not working. Whenever I press the on button, the power light blinks on and off twenty times then stays on but nothing happens, there is no power nothing, very strange.
