    Overclock Help

    ok here's the info needed...

    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 939 (90nm)
    Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra 939 SE
    Stock Cooling
    OCZ Powerstream 420watts
    x2 256mb PC3200 Generic - 2.5-3-3-8

    ok now here's the problem.....

When i was overclocking my pc with x1 256mb of pc3200 it would allow me to run the memory at startup @ 133mhz which enabled me to overclock from 1.8ghz to 2.45ghz.... now when i added another stick of fully compatible ram in dual channel, it wont allow me to run @ 133mhz, but lowest i can go is 166mhz which means i cant overclock barely at all anymore..... any ideas?

oh and ive tried using different sockets for the memory and taking it out of dual channel..... no go...

why dont you stick to just one stick of 512 and see what that would be like

i just traded in my x2 256 for x1 512 OCZ and now it works fine. im guessing it just was the memory.
