Which should i choose better for my Toshiba Tecra 730xcdt laptop
Windows 98 SE or Windows 2000?
Thanks
2k
k thanks
Just to elaborate (I was tired) I have XP pro but prefer 2k, XP has too many bells and whistles. 98 has USB problems and support for 98 is winding down. If your system can run 98 ok - it can run 2k too - from a speed point of view.
2K can also use the XP (actually NT) NTFS file system
alright thanks on the info hippy
Hmmm....... I would have to respectfully disagree. If I had a Pentium 166MMX system with 32Mb RAM, I would put Windows 98 SE and IE6 on it and I would probably be quite happy with it. If I could get 64Mb RAM in it, I would be perfectly content. But I wouldn't even entertain the idea of putting Windows 2000 on it.Originally Posted by HippyWarlock

And, by coincidence, the Tecra 730 does appear to be a Pentium 1 MMX system (curiosity got the better of me and I had to find out what it was!).
You'd need a whole sackful of memory (well, maybe not quite that much) to get that laptop to run Windows 2000 better than Windows 98 SE in my opinion.
Apols - When I (mis)Googled I got a higher spec PC... ooops!
