help with mouse and keyboard
Hi all. Desparately need help.
Stupid me deleted a mouse (and keyboard i presume) driver of my XP system.
Now my mouse doesn't work not does the keyboard (except for one or two keys depending where I am e.g. safe mode).
I have tried to go through the various options like safe mode etc but whatver i do i need to be able to use the mouse or the keyboard to continue.
Any ideas HELP.

The prob is that whenever i try to do anything I can't as the mouse won't work. Also can't use keyboard. Went into safe mode etc but again as i can't use keyboard can't do anyting.
Chip is athlon 2600.
Treid sytem restore but can't get past a point where have to use keyboard. I am not near my pc till tonight.
Thanks

More questions:
Are they both PS/2 connections?
Any chance you can find a USB mouse to try?
Take it you get no BIOS error as you seem to get beyond POST.
What exactly did you delete? What were you trying to do?
Is this a full install XP? Do you have the CD?

Hi. Thanks again.
Both are non USB connections.
I plan to buy a USB mouse today. I hope that by plugging in and the pc will automatically install it thus giving me mouse control.
No bios problems.
It is a full install of xp and i have the opriginal cd.
Why?? I was having a problem with a bloody game. It was making the guy in the game keep running and in circles to the left. i thought it might have been a clash with the Logitech mouse. Went into the mouse area in control panel and saw that there were three drivers there. Two were Microsoft and one was Logitech. The mouse seemed to be using the Microsoft so i though it would be ok to go back into explorer and remove the Logitech. Stupid thing to do i now know.
Again thanks for the help/

Hopefully the USB will get you in & you can reinstall the drivers.
I have seen it suggested that if you have front case USB ports to try them first as they have some autonomy from the rear ports.
There are alot of similar issues out there so let us know how it goes.
