Okay, so I put together a computer, everything seems to be good, but when I turn try to turn it on I basicly get nothing on screen. Now the monitor is on, and has a connection to the vid card (there is no "No connection to source" message on screen such as when its not connected). There are no beeps (such as the 1 beep one would usualy get when turning on a computer), I tried removing the RAM to see if I'd get the no RAM error beeps, but no such thing (I tried making sure the pins connected to the on-board speaker are connected correctly). I can see the HD access light turn on, as well as the CD drive, so those are apparently attempting to be accessed. The monitor also doesnt react when the computer gets turned on, it merely continues flashing as it would when the computer is off. Could it be possible I forgot something? basic essentials are mobo, cpu, RAM, vid card, and PSU and those are in correctly (to my knowledge)... the motherboard's manual 1st page says it only supports 1.5V vid cards, no 3.3V, but this is an AGP 8x card, (XFX Geforce MX4000 64MB), so i'm assuming it couldnt be an older 3.3V...

Hi it would help everyone to understand your issue if you could list the specifications of your newly built comp with as much detail as possible ?
Are all of the components new or have you used some older ones from a previous system?

ah, and monitor is refurbished, so i guess thats not "brand new", but it shouldnt have any problems, seems like it functions fine...

Hiya even without the ram and graphics card it should still beep..

even with new bits you may have a faulty part....

can you check the bits on another system??

Are the fans working ?
And what size psu have you fitted..?

350W, I'm trying to get all I can without trying on a diff system (they're at 2 different locations, not too convenient)... fans are running fine (cpu and psu), my best guess is faulty m/b, but it reads the HD/CD drive so i dunno, it seems like its doing what it should, just beep-less and nothing on the monitor...

Have you tried swapping the graphics card or see if it works with the onboard graphics?
It certainly looks as there is no POST beep that there is somesort of hardware failure.
Before thinking it is down to the mobo try to get your hands on another psu as i wouldnt rule that out as not being the problem.

Have you checked the cmos jumper setting?

wow that sorta scared me, but no, its not an FX card, its a Geforce 4 MX (the next one in the line, which was ok)...

there is no onboard graphics, but I could try using an old geforce2 card, but then again that might be 3.3V, which doesnt work altogether... wouldnt the system still give me the POST beep regardless of graphics card? (the computer would still work, u just wouldnt see it?)

I'll try the CMOS jumper, perhaps that's the problem...
PSU, everything seems to be powered, but i guess wouldn't hurt to try...
