E Drive Is Missing !!

Re: E Drive Is Missing !!
This is what IDE Cables look like. They are plugged into the back of your drive and also in to your motherboard.

You should be able to get them from PC World or most computer stores. Just ask for an IDE Cable.

Hi.......if you've already tried ignore me...
have you been start >settings> Control Panel> System> Hardware> Device Manager> DVD/ CD Rom and see if the device shows up there?

ive got two disk drives... does that mean i have to get a specific type of ide wire ?? becuase the one ive got for them right now has two at one end (connects to the two disk drives) and one at the other end (connects to the motherboard)

That's basically the only format of IDE cable that there is Bhavz. The only variation is that you can get different transfer rates - ATA33 normally has 3 black connectors, ATA100/ATA133 has a blue or red connector at the motherboard end. If you already know that you have two disk drives inside your PC, then you probably know what transfer rate they are and, therefore, what cable you need. If you don't know, then get an ATA133 cable as they are "backwards compatible" anyway.
Please be prepared for PC World to stitch you up like a kipper
I get IDE cables for 94p at trade price but they'll want about a tenner - absolutely scandalous

Sorry, I completey lost my train of thought there. What I was actually replying to you for was to ask if this is a Sony desktop / mini-tower PC ..... or is it a Sony Vaio laptop? As you're talking about having a number of disk drives and IDE cables, then I assume it must be a full PC. So how have you got Bluetooth in it?
If your Bluetooth transmitter is a "dongle" plugged into a USB port in the back, could you disconnect it and then reboot and see if it makes any difference. It's a bit of a long shot but it will only take a minute. Same applies to any other USB drives that are plugged in the back - disconnect them to rule out any conflict.

i got a full pc. no laptop or mini thing. i just purchased a new IDE cable and got a mate of mine to put it in and it all worked out fine. Thanks for all your help people!! Hope everyone had a nice Christmas!!
~*~ MERRY CHRISTMAS ~*~
