Re: Click here for the hardware Scan
Yep we think its becuase you dont have the correct components installed by XP, I'll explain once I have the link to get the correct components for you...
-
Ok just let me know about it.
-
When i click the link i get nothing but a webpage with a few links to other websites. No download prompt comes up at all. Am i missing something or is it just my comp. Also, i need to scan my laptop but it does not have a connection to the internet (infact thats the problem with it). Is there any way to save the scan executable or something!!?
Thanks

Hardware scan......I cant seem to find it, the above link sends me to a page that doesnt show it.
Anybody point a fool in the right direction please?
-
Don't worry, you're not a fool! - it's just that that is a rather old link and the page has since been moved. You can now find it here:

I don't usually like opening apps from a browser, almost always save them. I saved it to my PC (also saved the VBS so that it could run) and ran it, but I was wondering, under motherboard, model did not work for me.
I'm actually looking for a command to yank the model of the computer (ie: Dell Dimension xxxx)
would that be with:
Set colItems = objWMIService.ExecQuery("Select * from Win32_BaseBoard")
?
Edit---
(sorry for posting on such an old thread, I thought a new one would place an extra thread when it is not needed)
-
sorry nevermind, I found it (Win32_ComputerSystem and objItem.Model did the job)
