should i change the CHS settings before then switching to large or LBA as it does change them. which of the two should i use? using LBA or large just means that it keeps loading devices for ages during windows installation and gets nowhere, or gives me the blue scree, or even just doesnt boot from cd but after 5 dots gives me some weird symbols. the settings dont seem to want to save on BIOS if i change them to what they are supposed to be. thanks a lot. cheers.

majoro problemo! just plugged in my old hard drive to see if that helped, see if it worked, and after a few seconds smelled distinct smell of burning! not good. hastily switched off, removed hard drive, tried again. not good news. nothing up on the screen. refuses to bring anything up. why me !?? any ideas now!? dunno wat happened. if something serious's fried like my graphics card i will not be a happy bunny. oh dear, ill try a different monitor, the one im using is really quite old! good good. oh well. ill keep on trying.
