    Exclamation Graphics card problems

    i have a radeon 9800xt, nice right?

but ever since i got doom 3 it seems to be dying. i played the game through, and played other games (FarCry and StarWars:kotor) and they were fine too.

But then i started to get the infamous graphics artifact problem on doom. But it didn't stop there in other games i noticed graphics issues. such as white pixel lines in the seams of the walls and joints and some textures with holes in them.

    Anyone know whats going on?

I've never heard of games starting off fine and progressively getting more and more graphical corruptions. Sounds like an overheating problem to me.

Do you know the average load temperatures for your CPU, motherboard and graphics card? And do the games ever actually crash?

my cpu averages about 47 celcius at max load
my graphics card averages about 53 (max)
i don't know what my motherboard temp is...

    and the games never crash...

I am having a similar problem........ I have a Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb, which runs like a dream on Joint Operations and Far Cry...... BUT when I start Doom 3, my screen goes all "out of joint", like a tv with really bad reception......... I put in my old Nvidia 5600 and it worked just fine, then reseated my 9800 and well, gee, it worked for about 5 minutes, actually started to play Doom, and it just "turned itself off", basically the game just vanished off my screen ! Any ideas ? any advice ? I am a bit confused, as it works like a dream with Far Cry and Joint Ops.............. please advise........

Dipro - Ragnarok's problem appears to be unresolved at the moment. Therefore, could you please post your problem in a new thread so that we don't end up having two conversations in the same place at the same time! Thanks very much.

Rangnarok - It seems you haven't had any response for a while. Do you still need some assistance? You might find that moving your thread into the Games section will attract attention from those that have more experience of the kind of problem that you've got.
