Computer having problems booting up - HELP!
I've recently developed problems with my computer and having real difficulty getting it to boot up. The problem started about a week after I starting getting broadband (via BT with a Voyager 105 modem). I've got a firewall (Kerio) and Spyware software (Spybot) so i don't think its to do with that. For about the first week it was fine..I has no problems. Then the computer would boot up and freeze and I would have to turn it off using its switch. Then when I try and turn it on again it starts up for a few seconds then seems to die....beeps three times and it sort of starts up again (whirling noises and all that!) but doesn't actually boot up. The only solution then is to turn it off at the switch and starting again. Sometimes I know have to go through this process 15-20 times before it boots up.
I've tried uninstalling the broadband software and re-installing it. Again, I then experience no problems for a few days but then it starts happening like I've described above.
I was just wondering whether anyone had any ideas on how to solve this? Many thanks! :

Well if their POST beeps then 3 meens a memory error. Try taking your memory modules out, wiping the bottom edges with a static-free cloth and then put them back in and start again. If you have more than one module try using only one at a time to test which one is faulty.
Let us know how it goes
