Ok so someone gave me a computer to fix, and it has brand new RAM, and a new power supply in it, and when it starts up, there is just silence. No noise from the hard drive or anything like that. Also the picture doesn't work. The monitor stays black. I have tested the hard drive problem also, and it is not that. Could someone please help me? I'm stumped.

it might sound stupid but have you defintly got power to the mobo if not recheck leads connections and fuses also you say a computer to fix what makes you so sure that putting in new ram and psu has cured the original fault

i have had the same problem with an hp pavilion an its was because the power supply is broken because of a power surge

They didn't. They were meant to be upgrades. This is an unforeseen problem.
