    Angry Western Digital ez-bios

    Hello everyone,
    (post from a different forum)
I currently have a 45 gig WD 5400 hardrive in my computer. Originally I had Win ME for the O/S and decided that I was better off formatting and putting Win 98 SE on instead (ME was not very stable). I did the fdisk, format and loaded the O/S and then I discovered that 45 Gig suddenly became 10 Gigs!
I have gone back and disabled the EZ Bios using the Data lifeguard tools disk (version 2.5) that came with the HDD when I built the system...redid the fdisk, format, and it still only wants to recover 10 gigs. The system bios is seeing the full 45 gigs, but I just cannot seem to find a way to completely wipe the ENTIRE disk and start fresh.
Help...this machine is making me crazy!!
    Thank you! Tracker

I have attempted to format the HDD, and also to disable the EZ Bios....still it claims only 10Gig. I am attempting to overwrite the HDD right now, but it is a slow process..2 plus hours going and time remaining is 3 plus hours. I am hoping this will clear the whole disk and then I can go from here. Thanks! Tracker

what about if you uninstall your o/s i wonder if you would get a lot more free space as i know that your o/s is a lage capacity but i dont think it is that large at least you would know how much free space to expect
