Continous booting
Hi,
My computer keeps rebooting on it's own when I turn it on. It will post then I get the Windows XP logo, then it just starts all over again. I have tried safe mode etc, but no joy.
Could it be my RAM? It's at 96mb. The computer has been running fine till about 3 weeks ago when this problem started. I had Win 2000 on it before then upgraded to XP about 4 months ago.
I haven't added any new hardware and I only added one new game about 2 months ago.
Any ideas??? I want my computer back.

You've only got 96mb of ram? The recommended minimum for XP is 128mb, you may have a problem with your memory. I'd try putting another 128mb stick in and see if that solves it.

Hi,
I increased my RAM to 128mb but the problem continued, so I removed the hard drive and tried it on another machine and it's giving the same problem, my dilema now is how do I get my info out the HDD?

Well, you could buy a new hard drive, reinstall your OS and have your other hard drive as a slave drive. Then you could transfer your old files (i assume you are talking about music and the like) to your new drive.
Then reformat your old (now slave) drive and use it for backup.
Or
You could take your old Hard Drive to a friends house who could do what i described above then after returning the OS to yours, he could transfer your files back onto it.
Hope this helps
