no audio line in connector
Hi, im no computa wiz so i desperately need some help and please dont try to explain things to me in technical terms coz i suck.
Well, anyway the problem i'm having is with sound. I have had this computer for a while and have had windows xp on it for a month or so. My sound was working fine until today and now it says the line in connector has no signal. I have tried switching speakers, but neither are working. What can I do???

Line IN is used for an input into your computer - sound that you're creating that the computer is listening to, like a microphone.
Line OUT is sound that the computer is making that you're listening to, i.e. it's used for your speakers.
Are you sure your speakers are plugged into the right socket? On a modern PC with colour-coded sockets, the speaker socket on the back of the PC will be colour-coded green.
