Angry My computer wont turn on

I have recently put together a comp using an Asus k8v se deluxe motherboard, Athlon 64 3200, 2x 512mb ram, Ati radeon 9800 se, thermaltake Purepower 560w psu, hard drive, dvd writer etc. i put it all together easliy, following the motherboard instuctions and diagrams carefullly, am positive everything is in right place, that power unit works, case power switch connections work, but it wont turn on. no sound, no fan, no power, no love.

    Help?

If your PC won't start-up for the first time never mind POST you've messed something up big time. Re-trace your steps checking every component and cable is in the correct place. First thing I'd check is the PSU to Mainboard connector. If your positive everything's installed correctly and assuming everything is brand new your gonna have to find out which one of the components is DOA and send it back (it's usually the CPU or motherboard).

You could try removing everything but the mobo and cpu and flick it on and off just to see if the cpu fan spins.

If it doesn't then try swapping the PSU for a known good one (doesn't have to be a particularly high power rating).

If it still fails, look at all your mobo jumpers, dip switches etc, and check them twice. I often find I assume something is correct and move on, only to discover later that what I thought was right .... wasn't.

If all seems setup ok.... send your mobo back to the shop/supplier.
