i turn on my xbox360 it comes up with a red ring of death the ring has three parts

Compare your problem to the illustrations here. I advise you to contact Microsoft through the 360 help. A google shows help fixes but I would not do those if it is still under warranty because if it is still under warranty microsoft will repair or replace your unit for free. My old room mate had this happen a few times.
