Hi I've just built a PC for my daughter and it will be going next to the X Box can you get a cable of some sort to use the monitor for the PC and console, if possible one that doesn't need to be disconnected when the PC is needed,

what's the best way to connect to the net, will it be with a router?

What sort of monitor is it? I'm not aware of anything that can do this but some of the new monitors can be used as TV's or PC screens.

Yep plug the Xbox into the router direct or get the Xbox wireless adaptor if you have a wireless router and the you don't need it hard wired.
