    dvd ethernet connection

I got my friend a sony dvd player that has an ethernet connector for accessing thing like Pandora, netflix etc. the player is a long way from her pc/router setup. Is there a relatively inexpensiiiive way to get ethernet to it besides running a cat 5 cable. Maybe some wifi adapter like they have in printers. TIA

There are Ethernet to wifi Adapters that work well, but if the player has a USB port, you might have more options looking for a USB to wifi adapter.

Note when it comes to wifi, make sure it supports the latest wifi technology, 802.11n (or wireless-N) for the best security and range. I would avoid the cheapest you can find - especially if there are several walls/floors/ceilings between the player and the WAP (wireless access point - most likely integrated into a wireless router).
