Hello Wizards who help people,

I THINK I have got Microsoft Security Essentials installed and I THINK it is working okay. However, when I go to open it perhaps to start a scan, the window just flashes open for a second and then closes. Nothing I can do makes it stay open. Can anyone help?

It does not sound like it is working okay to me. Do you see MSE's icon in your system tray (you may have to unhide it)? MSE is an excellent anti-malware solution, and one I recommend without reservations - but it does need to be installed properly to work, like any program. I would normally recommend you download and install MSE again, but because of your other problems as noted in the link below, I think you need immediate attention from one of our malware removal experts.
