    network cable unplugged

    Hi everyone!

I am having problems with my internet connection, because it keeps saying network cable unplugged.
I have sky broadband that is working perfectly fine, the router is working, i even called sky and everything is fine. I also called Bt and they say that my line is active and working.
All the cables are connected, the lights in the router are flashing and when i click in the internet item it says connected!!!!

So why its not working?? do you think it might be the bt socket??

I have unplugged and plugged back all the cables, switch on-off, left for over an hour.
Bt is telling me that an engineer need to go and see, but they are asking me for £130 ...i cant afford it

    HELP!

Hi Louro and welcome to D-A-L.

I have moved your thread to Networking from Software Discussions.

There are many reasons this could be happening. The first thing I aways do is try another cable as they can be damaged easily. If using a router or switch, try another port as well. Scanning for malware never hurts. You might check here too for possible solutions: Network Cable Unplugged Errors in Windows - How to Fix

Regrettably if you don't have an ethernet cable plugged into the ethernet port windows will warn you about that even if you do have some other kind of internet connection. The only thing that I know to do to get rid of that is to disable the port. Please tell us if this doesn't apply to you but if your internet is working fine then try not to worry about it or disable the port (unless you use it to connect to the internet).

Do you have another PC to check internet connection?results?
    reboot-PC-router
    Definitely try what Digerati's suggest!
    Ping 127..0.0.1 - via cmd.exe?results?
What IP is your PC getting? Is DHCP enabled in router "if you did a hard reset?

wow that was an hold topic
