Hi all, Hope you can help.

I share a wirless internet connection with the house next door ( Both part of the same letting agency so i am not stealing it).

The house next door has a NETGEAR DG834G and i just want to repeat that into our house.

I also have a NETGEAR DG834G an i followed this guide on the web to set it up - Using the dg834g as a repeater

I have folLowed it to the letter and when i input the mac address and finalize the settigns, my Netgear router wirless starts flashing wich i suppose is a good thing.

Here is my problem.... when i log on to the router homepage thats in my house it just says that its connecting and i cant get internet at all.

I have limited access to the router next door so have been unable to power the router off and back on again.

Have i missed something vital? or should it be working....i am not sure if i need to update either of the routers firmware? if so how do i do it and what firmware do i need to use?

both the routers have wirless repeating capablitly but if i update the firmware on them will it wipe the info that i use to connect the main router to the web? that would mean gettin the letting agent out to re-input the username and password etc....( not a route a would like to take)
