flying blind, network config w/broken laptop

my monitor is busted on my vaio laptop. the vga connection stopped working (i was using external monitor for awhile). i want to access my vaio and was thinking about establishing a LAN with my desktop but I can't configure the network connection blindly with the laptops monitor problem. Any ideas? I was thinking about using the narrator function in accessories but it is very hard to follow.

I think you should pull the HD and install it into an enclosure attached to, or as a secondary drive installed in a second computer, then copy off the data you don't want to lose. Then get your notebook fixed, or replaced.

Tell em you seen me, but you never did see me saw.
I'm not sure how you install the HD to another computer, does it have to be a sony, a laptop?

It doesnt have to be a sony, any comuter will do even a stationary comp will do!
But then you may have to buy a adapter ( a thing that you put your 2.5 drive in and it becomes 3.5 o.O.

The adapter will depend on the type of drive (SATA or EIDE) - generally, they are something similar to this Notebook to IDE Hard Drive Adapter.
