Smile Reinstall of XP now bandwidth is 20mb not 50mb

Hello all, my first post here so be patient please
I recently reinstalled XP on pc and now for some reason my bandwidth has gone from 50mb to 20mb which is strange as the other pc i have on the same line is fine and getting full bandwidth. I assume it must be a setting in windows somewhere or a network problem of some sort, anyway any more info required please ask, thanks.

    Hi MrMatt,

As you're in the UK (like Me) and you're talking about 50Mbps broadband, I'm guessing that you've got Virgin Media's "up to 50 meg" cable broadband. Note that they say up to 50 meg. How are you measuring it? Are you measuring it the same way before and after your XP reinstall and the same way on both PCs?

I always use www.speedtest.net for testing broadband at different sites around the UK. Try that on both PCs and you should get the same result. If you don't, then perhaps there is a problem with one of your PCs.

Please let us know how you get on.

    Thanks,
